Privacy policy
What we collect when you use this site, what we only collect with your permission, who else receives it, and how to exercise your rights.
What’s the short version?
- Without your permission, we don’t use analytics cookies and nothing is sent to Google Analytics.
- We log download-button clicks without storing your IP address or setting a cookie.
- We never sell your data.
What do we collect without asking?
Only what’s needed to run the site and count affiliate clicks.

Click records don’t include your IP address. Your country comes from Cloudflare’s lookup of the request, and only the country code is stored.
Our legal basis for these is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure site and in measuring the affiliate traffic that pays for it.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, only if you click Accept. Until then, neither is loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies and records the pages you view, how you arrived and basic device information. Google processes this data, and may do so in the United States. Our legal basis is your consent.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page and choose Reject. Analytics stops from the next page you load.
We don’t use advertising or remarketing cookies.
What else do we load from other companies?
- Google Fonts. Our typefaces load from Google’s servers, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
- The affiliate network and the game publisher. Once you click a download button and leave our site, their cookies and privacy policies apply. We don’t control them.
The newsletter
If you sign up for the Dispatch, we use your email address only to send it. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address from our list. Our legal basis is your consent.
Who receives your data?
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and stores our click records.
- Google, for analytics, but only if you accepted.
- No one else. We don’t sell, rent or trade personal data.
What are your rights?
If you’re in the UK, the EU or the EEA, you have the right to:
- see the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected or deleted
- object to how we use it, or restrict it
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before
Our click records don’t contain anything that identifies you directly, so we may not be able to match a record to you. We’ll tell you if that’s the case.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office.
How do you contact us?

Will this policy change?
If what we collect changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If the change needs your consent, the cookie banner will ask you again.
